Clarification and Non-Fiction Disclosure
I am placing this document on record to clarify the nature of materials that have circulated under the Mindspire framework and in correspondence written by me, Michael P. Lennon Jr.
Let me be direct.
This is not an accusation.
It is not speculation.
And it is certainly not theatre.
What it is, frankly, is worse for anyone who prefers noise to facts.
It is a written record.
Narratives come and go.
Records stay where they are put.
Why I Used the Buzzard / Fool’s Day Reference
Some people have misunderstood the reference to “Buzzard / Fool’s Day.”
A buzzard does not flap about shouting for attention. It circles quietly above the landscape and watches.
It observes patterns before it moves.
That is the point.
“Fool’s Day,” associated with the first of April, has always carried another lesson: public stories can grow quickly, often before anyone checks what is actually true.
Put the two ideas together and the meaning is obvious.
Observe first.
Judge later.
It is a principle that would save a lot of people a lot of embarrassment.
What the Mindspire Documents Actually Are
Over the past few years I have written and circulated a number of documents connected with the governance concept I call Mindspire Experiences.
These include:
- public record notices
- correspondence with institutions
- essays explaining structural issues within administrative systems
- reflections drawn from my own lived experience
They are sometimes spoken about as though they are something more dramatic.
They are not.
They are simply observations placed on record by their author.
That author is me.
The Lived Gap
The central observation behind these materials is simple.
Modern institutions work through procedures.
Procedures eventually end.
But the consequences for the person involved do not always end at the same time.
The file closes.
The case moves on.
The system continues.
The individual is left dealing with what happens next.
I describe that space as “the lived gap.”
It is the point where the system says the matter is finished but the person involved is still living inside the aftermath.
The Administrative Fog
One issue I have written about repeatedly is what happens when people appear in court without professional representation.
Northern Ireland court guidance makes it clear that court staff cannot:
- give legal advice
- recommend actions
- explain how someone should run their case
Those rules exist for understandable legal reasons.
But the effect can be that an ordinary citizen walks into a legal system full of language such as:
prima facie
ex parte
ultra vires
To lawyers, those are normal terms.
To everyone else, they can feel like stepping into a room where the conversation is happening in a language you were never taught.
I have described this experience as administrative fog.
The system understands itself perfectly.
The person standing in front of it may not.
What My Documents Are Not
Because stories tend to travel faster than facts, I will state this plainly.
The documents I have written are not court rulings.
They are not government decisions.
They are not official directives issued by institutions.
They are my written observations and commentary placed on record.
Nothing more.
But equally important—nothing less.
Why I Put Things on Record
Public commentary moves quickly.
Stories appear.
Opinions form.
Conclusions get drawn long before anyone bothers to read the documents involved.
That is precisely why I write things down.
A written record slows the conversation down.
It forces people to look at what actually exists rather than what someone claims exists.
The Buzzard Principle
The Buzzard metaphor exists for one reason.
From inside a system, everything can look routine.
From outside that same system, patterns sometimes appear that those inside it cannot see.
Observation from above can reveal what observation from within cannot.
That is not an attack on institutions.
It is simply perspective.
The Lighthouse Reality
A lighthouse does not create rocks.
The rocks were already there.
The lighthouse exists so that people can see them before they hit them.
If someone chooses to ignore the warning light, the sea tends to handle the rest.
Final Note
I have placed these documents on record for one reason: transparency.
They describe my experiences, my observations, and the structural issues I encountered while navigating complex systems.
Anyone is free to read them, question them, or disagree with them.
What they are not free to do is pretend they do not exist.
Records have a habit of remaining exactly where they were placed.
